Sold. Sold. A Gouda Pottery tobacco jar/humidor in Rembrandt pattern. This highly styled and very popular form of Dutch pottery has been made in Holland for many years by many different companies. This design features a low relief to the mold, creating a pattern which is picked out in dark red, blue, ivory, white and gold (etc). Base color is dark brown inside and outside. Compartment within top for wet sponge to keep tobacco moist. Lower part of jar in excellent condition. Bottom of jar is cream colored with documentation in blue and black underglaze. Top has 3 chips (one reattached). Mid-20th C. 6-1/2 inches tall.
