A very graceful example of Japanese porcelain from the Nippon Period featuring Moriage raised paste decoration and a realistically painted sparrow. The artists capture a wonderful scene of a really cold day in Japan. 9-1/4 inches tall. Marked in green on base: Nippon hand painted. C 1891-1921. A little loss to the brown stripe around the vase mouth and about 1/8 in. loss to a tube line at the base is all that keeps this vase from being perfect.
