A grand French pewter pitcher of baluster shape. 14 inches tall. Spun up with a wrought handle attached near the spout and brought back down and soldered to the body. Four rings of tiny hand hammered decoration around the widest part. More random hand hammering above rings. Gracefully formed spout. Several touch marks to bottom which is quite heavy. This is a very formidable piece of work unlike any we have had. Mid 19th C. Conservatively.
