A treenware covered box from Scotland, C. 1900. The wood, believed to be walnut, is decorated with nailed cut brass work in Arts and Crafts taste. Lid fits tightly. Knob firmly attached. No cracks or other damages. Clean inside. Odorless. 5-3/4 in. max. diameter. 6 inches tall. N.B. "Treen" is a word to describe a small useful domestic item made from wood of a "tree" (as opposed to "furniture" also made from trees.
