A spectacular Steuben hand blown crystal vase with applied black threading winding down informally from the lip about 3 inches. There is a swirling diamond optic to the fairly thin crystal which gives the effect of constant movement to the viewer. Glass at the base is quite thick which adds a very stable aspect to this work of art. There is a substantial polished pontil underneath. There is loss to some of the black threading which is apparently not uncommon to these vases. Images are supplied. No damage to the glass body, although there is some use abrasion under the base. 6-3/4 inches tall. 6-1/4 in. diameter at the rim. The vase is unsigned. C. 1930's.
